If you hang stockings as a Christmas tradition, what’s the story behind your family’s treasures? Are they a mix of old and new? Are they handmade? Did you find them in a catalog or fall in love with them at a favorite shop?
We’re meeting at the Fairfield Inn again on Thursday, November 11th, 2-4pm. BYO stitching project and join us!
Last fall I found several old grain sacks at Madison, Indiana’s River West Antique Mall. I wasn’t looking for anything in particular that day – “just browsing, thanks.” But these well worn sacks spoke to me. “We would make awesome kitchen aprons for your friends,” they whispered. It’s like they knew me…
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve been drawn to beautiful embroidery, amazed how someone could make such intricate designs with a needle. I watched my grandmother, Flo, embellish dress collars, pinafores, and my doll clothes. I was hooked. Inspired.
If you enjoy handwork, pick up your needle and follow me! Creating a small embroidery project of simple stitches and pretty colors is a perfect way to say “you’re special.”
